’Imām
al-Riḍā ▧:
May Allāh ◣ shower mercy upon an obedient who
has revived our cause. The ’Imām
was asked “how could one revive your cause”?
He replied: by learning about our knowledge,
and making it known to [other] people.
People would indeed follow us if they knew about the virtue of our
words.

Verily, the love of us, Ahl

in His Creation, we are His favourites, and the descending point of divinities,

Salām:
|
|
Salām
is one of the derivatives of the Arabic root S-L-M,
and denotes peace, tranquillity, salutation, accord and harmony with those
around us, and resignation stemming from satisfaction. It also means physical, mental, and spiritual
health, and total immunity from any harm, injury, and damage. The word
Islām
is also derived from the same root,
meaning total submission to the will of
Allāh
(J.J.).
Most importantly,
as-Salām
is one of His Beautiful Glorious Names
(Attributes). Thus, by extending
salām
to someone,
not only we greet him with honour and respect, but also we wish him peace,
harmony, immunity, satisfaction, and total health. Leave alone the reminiscence of the Beautiful
Name of our Creator, which has its own grace and blessings.
Unithetically, salām resembles
English words so-long, solemn, asylum to Allāh, and the Hebrew word Shālom. The city of Jerusalem (Dār us-Salām,
in Arabic) means “The House of Peace and immunity” which is
unfortunately occupied by the most arrogant of this era, and is converted to
the House of “ugly genocide”
instead of “gratifying peace”, for the time being.
