  Title of Honour: aṣ-Ṣādiq, meaning the Truthful.

Father ’s name : Muḥammad ( ’Imām al-Bāqir) (a.s.)

Mother ’s name : ’Ummu Farwah Khātūn .

Date of birth : 17^thRabī ʿ (I), in the year 83 A.H. (702 A.D.).

The blessed place of birth : The holy city of Medina, al-Ḥijāz.

Lifetime : 65 Hijri years.

Duration of imamate : 34 Hijri years.

Date of martyrdom : 25^th of Shawwāl 148 A.H. (765 A.D.)

Murderer : Manṣur Dawānaqi, by poison.

The place of burial : The blessed Baqi ʿ cemetery in the holy city of Medina, al-Ḥijāz.

Number of children : 7 sons and 3 daughters.
