Imām al-Riḍā ▧:

May Allāh ◣ shower mercy upon an obedient who has revived our cause.  The Imām was asked “how could one revive your cause”?  He replied: by learning about our knowledge, and making it known to [other] people.  People would indeed follow us if they knew about the virtue of our words.

Imām al-Ḥusayn ▧:

Verily, the love of us, Ahl al- Bayt, sheds sins off an individual, just as a strong wind sheds leaves off the tree.

Book No. 3, v. 27, p. 77, h. 9, c. 4.

Imām al-Bāqir ▧:

A believer can escalate to highest degree of belief with prudent study of our narration.

Book No. 3, v. 1, p. 106, h. 2, c. 3.

Ḥaḍrat Fāṭimah Zahrā ▨:

We, Ahl al-Bayt, are the intermediaries in His Creation, we are His favourites, and the descending point of divinities, and we are His final Proof of His unseen world, and we are inheritors of His prophets.

آداب و اخلاق

MANNERS AND MORALITY

5-01

اَلْعُقُولُ مَواهِبُ وَالادابُ مَكاسِبُ.

عقلهاى ) مردم ( مواهب الهى است ولى آداب و اخلاق اكتسابى اند.

Intelligence is godsend but manners can be acquired .

Al-Imām ʿAli (a.s.):  Book No. 2, p. 50, h. 334


5-02

حَقيقٌ بِاالاِنْسانِ اَنْ يَخْشَى اللَّهَ بالْغَيْبِ وَ يَحْرُسَ نَفْسَهُ مِنَ الْعَيْبِ وَ يَزْدادَ خَيْراً مَعَ الشَّيْبِ.

شايسته است كه آدمى در پنهان خدا ترس باشد، خويشتن را از عيوب و نقائص محافظت نمايد، و در سالمندى بر اعمال خوب خود بيفزايد.

It is worthy of humankind to be afraid of Allāh (J.J.) [s justice] in private[1], and to protect himself from the vice, and to enhance beneficence with age.



[1] - This is one of the most valuable teachings.  If one believes that he will  finally return to the Judge Who has always been present, has heard and saw everything, and is the Absolute source of Knowledge, Power, and Justice, then he better watch his actions very carefully even in privacy .

5-03

الرَّجُلُ حَيْثُ اخْتارَ لِنَفْسِه، اِنْ صانَهَا ارْتَفَعَتْ وَ اِنِ ابْتَذَلَهَا اتَّضَعَتْ.

حيثيت مرد به اختيارى است كه براى خويش ميكند.  اگر خود را ) از گناه ( نگاه دارد به درجات رفيع نائل ميشود، و اگر كارهاى دور از شأن انجام دهد به پستى مى گرايد.

The value of a man is on what he chooses for himself.  He will be exalted if he abstains [from sins], and will be miserable if he abases .

5-04

حُسْنُ الاَخْلاقِ بُرْهانُ كَرَمِ الاعْراقِ.

اخلاق خوب اثبات نجيب زادگى است.

Good morality is a proof of noble origin (root) .

Al-Imām ʿAli (a.s.):  Book No. 2, p. 254, h. 5358


5-05

لا اَدَبَ لِمَنْ لا عَقْلَ لَهُ، وَ لا مُرُوَّةَ لِمَنْ لا هِمَّةَ لَهُ وَ لا حَياءَ لِمَنْ لا دِينَ لَهُ.

آن كس كه خرد ندارد ادب ندارد و آن كس كه همّت ندارد جوانمردى ندارد و آن كس كه دين ندارد، حيا ندارد.

There is no morality for one who lacks intellect; no chivalry for one who lacks the zeal; and no religion for one who lacks shyness (restraint).

Al-Imām Ḥasan(a.s.):Book No. 20, v. 1, p. 571


5-06

مَنْ لانَتْ كَلِمَتُهُ وَجَبَتْ مَحَبَّتُهُ.

هركس كه با نرمى صحبت کند، محبّت بر او واجب می گردد.

He who speaks softly, his love becomes imperative .

Al-Imām ʿAli (a.s.): Book No. 10, p. 91


5-07

اَلا اُخْبِرُكُمْ بِخَيْرِ خَلائِقِ الدُّنْيا وَ الآخِرَةِ؟  اَلْعَفْوُ عَمَّنْ ظَلَمَكَ وَ تَصِلُ مَنْ قَطَعَكَ وَ الاحْسانُ اِلى مَنْ اَساءَ اِلَيْكَ وَ اِعْطاهُ مَنْ حَرَمَكَ.

آيا خبر ندهم شمارا از بهترين سرشت در دنيا و آخرت؟  بخشش كسى كه به تو ستم كرده، پيوند با كسى كه از تو بريده، احسان به كسى كه به تو بدى كرده و عطاء بخشى بر كسى كه تو را محروم ساخته است.

Shall I not inform you about the best manners for this world and the next?  Forgiving he who has wronged you, union with he who has cut off from you, beneficence with he who has done badly to you, and generosity toward he who has deprived you .

5-08

اَلْوَفاءُ عُنْوانُ الصَّفاءِ.

وفادارى نشانه صفا و صميميت است.

Loyalty is the sign of purity .

Al-Imām ʿAli (a.s.):  Book No. 2, p. 435, h. 9957


5-09

لو سَكَتَ مَن لا يَعلَمُ سَقَطَ الاِختلافُ.

اگر انسان در آنچه نمى داند سكوت كند اختلاف از ميان مى رود.

Differences shall disappear, if [people] kept silent on what they do not know .

Al-Imām ʿAli (a.s.):  Book No. 3, v.2, p. 122, h.45, c.16


5-10

ذَوُو العُيُوبِ، يُحِبُّونَ اِشاعَةَ معايِبِ الناسِ لِيَتَّسِعَ لَهُمُ العُذر ُ فِى مَعايِبِهِمْ.

         اشخاص عيب دار دوست دارند كه زشتى هاى ديگران را فاش سازند تا درباره معایب خود عذرى بيابند.

Flawed people love to reveal the faults of others, to find an excuse for their own faults .
