Imām al-Riḍā ▧:

May Allāh ◣ shower mercy upon an obedient who has revived our cause.  The Imām was asked “how could one revive your cause”?  He replied: by learning about our knowledge, and making it known to [other] people.  People would indeed follow us if they knew about the virtue of our words.

Imām al-Ḥusayn ▧:

Verily, the love of us, Ahl al- Bayt, sheds sins off an individual, just as a strong wind sheds leaves off the tree.

Imām al-Bāqir ▧:

A believer can escalate to highest degree of belief with prudent study of our narration.

Ḥaḍrat Fāṭimah Zahrā ▨:

We, Ahl al-Bayt, are the intermediaries in His Creation, we are His favourites, and the descending point of divinities, and we are His final Proof of His unseen world, and we are inheritors of His prophets.

كلام و سخن

SPEECH AND UTTERANCE

6-01
المَرءُ مَخبُوءٌ تحتَ لِسانِهِ.

[شخصّيت] انسان در زير زبانش نهفته است.

One [s character] is concealed under his tongue.

6-02

قِلَةُ الكَلامِ يَستُرُ العِوارَ و يُؤْمِنُ العِثارَ.

كم گوئى زشتى ها را مى‏پوشاند و آدمى را از لغزش ايمن مى دارد.

Reticence covers up the obscenities, and protects from the slip [of the tongue] .

6-03

بَيانُ الرَّجُلِ يُنْبِى‏ءُ عَنْ قُوَّةِ جَنانِه.

سخن آدمى حاكى از نيروى قلبى او است.

Utterance of a man is a reflection of the power of his heart .

مَنْ اَصْغى اِلى ناطِقٍ فَقَدْ عَبَدَهُ فَاِنْ كانَ النّاطِقُ عَنِ اللَّهِ فَقَدْ عَبَدَاللَّهَ وَ اِنْ كانَ النّاطِقُ يَنْطِقُ عَنْ لِسانِ اِبْليسَ فَقَدْ عَبَدَ اِبْليسَ.      

كسيكه بسخن گوينده اى گوش فرا دارد با اين عمل وى را بندگى كرده است، اگر گوينده سخن از خدا ميگويد او خدا را بندگى كرده و اگر ناطق از زبان شيطان و افكار شيطانى سخن ميگويد شيطان را بندگى نموده است.

One who listens to a speaker is in his bondage [1] .  Therefore, if speaker spoke from Allāh (J.J.), the listener is in bondage of Allāh (J.J.).  But if speaker spoke from the tongue of satan, the listener is in bondage of satan [2] .



[1] -  Unithetically, the Arabic word ʿabd(عبد) is related to ʿubudiyyah which resembles "obedience" as well as "bondage" in English.  The latter also resembles bandegui in Farsi(بندگی).  Thus ʿabd, ʿubudiyyah, "obedience", "bondage, and bandegui appear to be from oneunique source, used by different nations with different pronunciations.

 

[2] -  Beware not to listen to any satanic conversation (or person).  Satanic words are so charming and deceitful that we are often gulled, unless there is a way to distinguish.  The Glorious Qur ān is The Distinguisher( الفرقان ) between the right and the wrong, the good and the bad, the healthy and the ill, the divine and the devilish, and between the virtue and the vice .

آفَةُ الحديثِ الكَذِبُ ...

آفت كلام سخن دروغ است ...

The failure of speech is telling lies ...

قُولُوا لِلنّاسِ اَحْسَنَ ما تُحِبُّونَ اَنْ يُقالَ لَكُمْ.

با مردم بهتر از آنچه دوست داريد آنها با شما حرف بزنند سخن گوئيد.

Talk to people better than what you like to be talked to .

6-07

لا تَنْظُرْ اِلى مَنْ قالَ و انْظُرْ اِلى ما قالَ.

نظر بگوينده مكنيد، نظر بگفتار نمائيد ) يعنى گفتار صحيح را از هر كه گفته است بپذيريد ( .

Dont bother who said it; pay attention to what is said (i.e. accept the right word from any one).

اَجْمِلوُا فِى الْخِطابِ تَسْمَعُوا جَميلَ الْجَوابِ.

پسنديده صحبت كنيد تا جواب پسنديده بشنويد.

Talk pleasantly in order to receive pleasant answers .

اَقْلِلْ كَلامَكَ تَاْمَنْ مَلاماً.

سخنت را كم كن تا از نكوهش و ملامت در امان باشى.

Talk little to be protected from the rebuke .
