Imām al-Riḍā ▧:

May Allāh ◣ shower mercy upon an obedient who has revived our cause.  The Imām was asked “how could one revive your cause”?  He replied: by learning about our knowledge, and making it known to [other] people.  People would indeed follow us if they knew about the virtue of our words.

Imām al-Ḥusayn ▧:

Verily, the love of us, Ahl al- Bayt, sheds sins off an individual, just as a strong wind sheds leaves off the tree.

Book No. 3, v. 27, p. 77, h. 9, c. 4.

Imām al-Bāqir ▧:

A believer can escalate to highest degree of belief with prudent study of our narration.

Book No. 3, v. 1, p. 106, h. 2, c. 3.

Ḥaḍrat Fāṭimah Zahrā ▨:

We, Ahl al-Bayt, are the intermediaries in His Creation, we are His favourites, and the descending point of divinities, and we are His final Proof of His unseen world, and we are inheritors of His prophets.

شكيبايى و بردبارى

PATIENCE AND FORBEARANCE

8-01

اَلْصَبرُ مِنَ الاِيمانِ بِمَنزِلَةِ الرَأسِ مِنَ الجَسَدِ فاِذا ذَهَبَ الْرَأسُ ذَهَبَ الْجَسَدُ كَذلِكَ اِذا ذَهَبَ الْصبرُ ذَهَبَ الاِيمانُ.

صبر از بابت ايمان مانند سر است از بابت بدن.  همان طور كه اگر سر از بين رفت بدن هم مى‏رود، وقتى صبر از بين رفت ايمان هم مى‏رود.

Patience with respect to the imān (belief) is like head with respect to the body.  The body is gone when the head is gone.  By the same token, the imān is gone when the patience is gone .

8-02

اَلْحِلمُ غِطَاءٌ سَاتِرٌ وَ الْعَقْلُ حُسَامٌ قَاطِعٌ. فَاسْتُرْ خَلَلَ خُلُقِكَ بِحِلْمِكَ، وَ قَاتِلْ هَوَاكَ بِعَقْلِكَ.

حلم پرده‏اى است پوشاننده و عقل شمشيرى است برنده.  پس عيوب اخلاقى ات را با حلم ات بپوشان، و هوس هايت را با عقلت بميران.

Patience is a covering veil, and intellect is a sharp sword.  Therefore, camouflage your faulty temper with your patience, and destroy your desires with your intellect .

8-03

اَلاناةُ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَ الْعَجَلَةُ مِنَ الشَّيْطانِ.

تأنى از خداوند و عجله از شيطان است.

Patience is from Allāh (J.J.), and haste is from the satan .

Prophet Muḥammad (ph&hp) : Book No. 10, p. 43


8-04

اَلصَّبْرُ عَلَى الْفَقْرِ مَعَ الْعِزِّ اَجْمَلُ مِنَ الْغِنى مَعَ الذُّلِّ.

شكيبايى در فقرِ توأم با عزّت زيباتر از ثروتِ آميخته به ذلّت است.

Forbearance over poverty, blended with honour, is more beautiful than the wealth, blended with abasement .

8-05

فِى الْعَجَلَةِ النَّدامَه فِى الاَناةِ السَّلامَةُ.

در عجله پشيمانى، و در تأنى آرامش وسلامتی است.

Haste results in regret; forbearance results in peace and security [1] .



[1] - The Arabic word As-Sal ā mah ( السّلامه )means anything or anybody that is free from vice, or defects; thus causing peace and security .

فَجَعَلَ اللَّهُ ... الصَّبْرَ ] لَكُم [ مَعُونَةً عَلَى اسْتِيجابِ الاَجْرِ ....

و خداوند صبر را براى بدست آوردن اجر براى شما قرار داده است ....

 ... And Allāh (J.J.) has created patience (ṣabr) for you as a means of deserving the reward ...

8-07

... وَ آفَةُ الِحلْمِ السَّفَهُ ...

... و آفت بردبارى سفاهت است ...

 ... And the failure of forbearance is immaturity (foolishness).

8-08

اِطْرَحْ عَنْكَ وارِدٰتِ الْهُمُوِمِ بِعَزائِمِ الصَّبْرِ وَ حُسْنِ الْيَقِينِ.

با شكيبايى و حُسْن يقين غم و اندوه هائى را كه بر تو وارد مى شود از خود دوركن.

Banish your sorrow and grief with patience and good conviction .

8-09

عَوِّدْ نَفْسَكَ التَّصَبُّرَ عَلَىٰ الْمَكْرُوهِ و نِعْمَ الْخُلُقُ التَّصَبُّرُ فِى الْحَقِّ.

خود را به تحمّل شكيبائى عادت ده در آنچه ناخوشايند است.  تحمّل شكيبائى در راه حق پسنديده ترين خلق و خو است.

Accustom yourself to practicing forbearance upon the unwelcome matters.  The best moral character is endurance for the cause of Truth .
